The Story at Immanuel Fort Collins

Immanuel Christian Reformed Church will launch a 31 week worship and discipleship Crownseries called The Story, on Sunday morning, September 7, 2014.

The Story is an abridged Bible, arranging selected texts from the Bible in chronological sequence. The scripture text is woven together with transition summaries written to connect the message of the Bible so that it reads like a seamless story.

For persons unfamiliar with the Bible, a reading of The Story can reduce the intimidation that often comes when attempting to read the entire Bible from cover to cover. For persons more familiar with the Bible, this arrangement of the Bible story can clearly show the way the whole Bible fits together in a single grand narrative.

The Story will also be used in the discipleship ministry of Immanuel Church. Age appropriate curriculum will be used by all age groups in Children’s Worship, Sunday School Classes and  Small Group meetings to coincide with the weekly Sunday messages presented by Pastor John Terpstra.

Age appropriate versions of the Bible have also been written for children. Three versions are available:

  • The Story for Little Ones (Pre-School)
  • The Story for Children (early elementary)
  • The Story for Kids (later elementary).

A special version of The Story for Teens will also be used at Immanuel.

All materials will be made available to the Immanuel family as well as friends and neighbors at no cost.
